Meet our Guest Artist For October; Diane Bove

This month Gecko Galz is extreamly pleased to have as our guest artist an amazingly talented paper artist Diane Bove. Without further ado let her tell you a bit about herself!

ABOUT DIANE

I am excited to share my passion for paper
crafting with you. I think we all have so much
creativity built up and hiding in each of us, we
just don’t know how to access it. It’s intoxicating
to feel so proud of what you just made, and the
pleasure you get from giving it to someone is
amazing. I am an excellent organizer, I love to
help people through example and
encouragement, and I love to create beautiful
handmade cards. It is so empowering to take
paper, digital stamps, dies and embellishments
to create beautiful handmade cards. I have a
background in sales and marketing. I live in
Michigan with my wonderful husband and I have
two adult children, who inspire, encourage and
indulge me in everything I do. Along with card
making, I am passionate about cooking. I love to
experiment and make up new recipes, which my
family loves to taste test. I collect antique
cookbooks and I love to read through them to
see how women lived at that time in history. I
have participated in card clubs and card swaps.

Guest Designer for September; Shawn Johnson

We would like to introduce you to our September Guest designer, Shawn Johnson is a wife and mom who enjoys family, reading, tea time and crafting. She taught adult education cake
decorating for five years before starting to make quilts. When her daughter was in elementary school, she started scrapbooking. She enjoy's creating tags and cards, playing
with ink and stamps, and using her sewing machine to add detail to my scrapbook pages.
Shawn is an amazing paper crafter and artisan and we would like to share some of her work she has done using Gecko Galz September products.

Challenge Week at Gecko Galz

WHATS NEW WITH THE GALZ

Hello and Greetings Everyone!

We are so excited about the new events and products comeing down the road for Gecko Galz....so excited we wanted to share all the big news with you!

First we want to welcome all our new design team members to the team and wanted to introduce them to you!

KRISTIN RHODES

has been paper crafting since 2006. She loves
making cards, chipboard books and scrapbook
albums. She also enjoys taking classes and
watching you tube tutorials to learn new
techniques.

Her favorite embellishments are lace, ribbon,
stickles, ephemera and flowers! She is a firm
believer that if her project doesn't have stickles
on it, it isn't complete!

her mom, Paula Williams, is also on the Gecko
Galz Design Team and she is so happy that they
get to share such a fun hobby together!

CAROL SALISBURY

My name is Carol Salisbury. I have been a
scrapper for 8 or 9 yrs now. What started out as a
small idea snowballed into a big obsession! Love
lot's of pretty papers, flowers, ribbons & lace and
all the little goodies you can stick on a page.
From there I started making my own cards and
that was it! Holidays, birthdays, thank you's...No
turning back now! My style leans toward vintage
& shabby chic.

Two summers ago, looking for ideas, I got on the
internet and found scrapbooking sites, card
makers and blogs. I've met a bunch of wonderful
people online who share my obsession and have
learned a lot of things. I am now not just a
scrapper or a card maker, I am also making mini
albums, altering notebooks & boxes...anything
that sitting on my desk for too long it is at risk of
being altered too!  I'm making ATC's & tags as
well!

Playing with digi images is one of my newer
obsessions. I love altering them. I love adding
them to a project just the way they are. They
always seem to add that little extra something
that I need on a project.


I look forward to more scrappiness and I hope

DEBI RYAN

 have been drawing for as long as I can
remember, I discovered scrap booking
over 10 years ago, and it still remains for
first love. Two years ago I started making
cards and that's lead to my true hearts
desire- collaging and mixed media. So of
course  I'm thrilled to be joining Gecko
Girls and I can't wait to start creating with
all the gorgeous kits.
I live with my family in New Zealand after
emmigrating 10 years ago from the UK.

My name is Jules Eickmeier and I am a retired
English teacher living
in a small fishing village on the Florida Gulf
Coast.  While my family
and grandchildren are my first passion, my
second is the sheer joy of
creating.  I have been playing with paper and
paste for about 15 years
and have spent the last 7 or so teaching paper
arts both nationally
and locally here in Florida.  I've been published in
several major
magazines and served on both ezines as a writer
and contributor and on
assorted design teams.  I am thrilled beyond
measure to be on the

SHARON ROGERS

I’ve been crafting for at least half of my life & I
love all forms of crafting but especially paper
crafts and creating using fabric. I love all styles
but especially vintage & asian & I like to think
‘outside the box’. I have a passion for beautiful
papers and I love embellishments – of course I
have far too much of everything but what
crafter doesn’t!!! I like to make people smile
when they see my creations and I hope I

Another bit of News Gecko Galz is gearing up to release their first book of designs in July. Every quarter we will release a new book of designs that has step by step instructions on how to make each of the 20 designs. Plus a page of sentiments you can use on scrapbook pages or cards, wonderful collage images to help make your designs, amazing templates and a challange in every issue where your design might be published in the next issue, and a readers corner where we publish designs by our followers. All this in one amazing publication. We will be offering it 2 ways the digital format will be $12 and a spiral bound hard copy will be $25. We hope everyone will check it out!
