This month our design team is Celebrating all things Easter and Spring with eggs, chicks and rabbits oh my.
Below are some amazing samples by
MICHELE STORMS

Walking the Baby

Supplies:
Gecko galz “Flower Power " paper pack
Gecko Galz “Mums the Word” collage sheet
Gecko Galz “Provance Garden” collage sheet
Distress inks
Washi tape

Instructions
I covered my cardstock with the Flower Power paper and added a strip of washi tape.  I arranged my images from the “Mums the Word” and “Provance Garden” collage sheets in the way I wanted (the "mum", the flower and key) and adhered them as well.  I punched a heart from an additional sheet of Gecko Galz paper.

Easter Time: Happy Easter
Supplies:
Gecko Galz " Easter Parade " paper pack
Gecko Galz Easter Icons
Dragonfly brad by Eyelet Outlet
Border
Distress inks
“Happy Easter” stamp by Savvy Stamps

Instructions: The bunny and the chick are from the "Easter Icons" set (PNG images) and I added them digitally to the background paper from the “Easter Parade” and then printed it.  After adhering the design to card stock I simply distressed the edges, added a border at the bottom, a dragonfly brad and a stamped sentiment.  The "happy Easter" stamp was stamped on additional paper from the Easter Parade paper pack

Loving Mother

Supplies:
Gecko galz “Flower Power " paper pack
Gecko Galz “Mums the Word” collage sheet
Gecko Galz “Provance Garden” collage sheet
Distress inks
Washi tape

Instructions
I covered my cardstock with the Flower Power paper and added a strip of washi tape.  I arranged my images from the “Mums the Word” and “Provance Garden” collage sheets in the way I wanted (the "mum", the flower and key) and adhered them as well.  All edges were distressed with ink.

Easter Time: Prima Doll
Supplies:
Gecko galz “Easter Parade " paper pack
Gecko Galz “Flower Power” paper pack
Gecko Galz Easter Icons
Distress inks
“Happy Easter” stamp by Savvy Stamps

Instructions: My goal with this piece was to use as many of the new papers from Gecko Galz as possible so I decided to do a paper-pieced Prima Doll showcasing several of the new papers. I used a combination of papers from the new Easter parade paper pack and the new flower power paper pack.  I stamped my Prima Doll stamp "Mindy" several times on the different papers.  And then I commenced a whole lot of cutting and gluing! I took some cardstock and cut it to make a card -- about the same size for a legal sized envelope.  I covered that cardstock with two of the gecko galz papers, then added a Gecko Galz Easter image from the Easter icons set.  The final step was stamping "happy Easter" on more of the Gecko Galz paper and adding that to the card.

Easter Time: The Easter Bunny Cometh

Supplies:
Gecko galz “Easter Parade " paper pack
Gecko Galz Easter Icons
Distress inks
Lace border
Stickers

Instructions
I started with selecting 2 PNG images from the easter icons set -- the bunny and the egg bursting open with flowers.  I arranged them digitally on one of the gorgeous background papers from the Easter Parade paper pack. I printed that out and adhered it to my card stock and added distressing, bright pink lace and some easter eggs and a chick at the bottom!

A Mother’s Love

Supplies:
Gecko galz “Flower Power " paper pack
Gecko Galz “Mums the Word” collage sheet
Gecko Galz “Provance Garden” collage sheet
Distress inks
Flower stamp by Sunday International
Instructions
I covered my cardstock with the Flower Power paper.  I arranged my images from the “Mums the Word” and “Provance Garden” collage sheets in the way I wanted, adhered them to the cardstock and added the felt lace border at the top. I stamped the flowers from Sunday International and colored them with markers and cut them out to add to the bottom.  All edges were distressed with ink.

EGG  HUNT SHRINE

Paint the bottom and the edges of a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 hollow wooden block with gesso.

When dry, rub the bottom and edges with Adirondack Ink in Pesto

Print out EP05 from the Easter Parade digital paper pack

Cut into five equal squares to cover five sides of the block, excluding the bottom.  Ink all edges of the paper, then adhere to the wooden block using a Scotch Craft Stick.

Print out the Egg Hunt image from Easter Parade Icons 1, included in the April Kit.  Distress edges, then adhere to the front of the block.

Add small buttons and a bold graphic self-stick cloth tape trim at the bottom.   Add feet if desired and paint to match.

Print out the bunny image from Easter Parade Icons 2 at 3" x 5".  Print it again using mirror image for the back side.

Using the Scotch Craft Stick, adhere one of the bunny images to a piece of  65 lb weight white cardstock, and then fussy cut.  The extra layer of paper will make your bunny sturdier.

Fussy cut the mirror image, cover with Scotch Craft Stick, and carefully adhere to the back side of the other bunny image, lining it up perfectly to the other side.  You will now have a two-sided and very sturdy bunny image.

Use a thin line of hot glue to adhere the bunny image to the center of the block.  Surround the image with moss and plastic bird eggs to further secure the bunny to the block.  Embellish with flower vines and other desired embellishments.

Monthly Question:  "What is the most exciting thing to happen to you in your paper crafting career?"

My most exciting moment was the first time I was accepted on a Design Team.  It was several years ago, and I had only recently begun to paper craft, and didn't even have a blog yet.  I did have a youtube channel, so I completed the two required audition projects, and applied to the call.  I was totally shocked, but really excited when I got an acceptance email.  It never hurts to try, you just might be pleasantly surprised!

VICKI ROMAINE

VICTORIAN FLOWERS CARD

This is a simple card, but it took a little maneuvering to get the lady to fit behind the flowers by cutting a slot in the background.

HELLO CHICKS CARD

I used Washi tape for part of the background on this card of Easter Chicks.  A couple of pom pom flowers embellish the corner of the image.

The most exciting thing that  has happened to me was to be chosen for the Gecko Galz DT.  I have been on other teams but this was the one I really wanted to be a part of.

I was so excited when I learned I was on the GG DT that I called all my local crafting friends.

Secondly was winning a free class position for 21Secrets, an online class.

A LITTLE MAGIC IN HER DESIGNS JOAN LIDDLE

This month our design team is Celebrating all things Easter and Spring with eggs, chicks and rabbits oh my.
Below are some amazing samples by
JOAN LIDDLE

RABBIT CARD

Supplies used:
Gecko Galz -  Flower Power paper #3,  Easter Parade Icons #22,  Fair Verona paper (from Star Crossed papers)
From my stash - felt flowers, blue card base, Vine punch (We R Memory Keepers), Elmer's Glue

Directions:
The card is 6" x 6" in size. The Fair Verona paper was attached to the card base. I used the Vine punch,  punched a doily from the Flower Power paper and added it to the card next. The rabbit icon was sized in Photoshop, cut out and attached to the doily. The felt flowers were glued to the card.

HAPPY EASTER CARD

Supplies used:
Gecko Galz - Easter Parade papers #6, Easter Parade collage sheet, Easter Parade Icons #1
My stash - Stickles, green card base, green bow (Crate Paper), die cut frame, die cut banner and stamp (Stampin' Up),  brown colored pencil

Directions:
The Easter Parade paper was cut to fit the card base, leaving a small border on all sides. The image was resized and printed in Photoshop.
I outlined the egg with brown colored pencil to make it pop. The Easter basket was sized in Photoshop, fussy cut and the eggs accented with pink, yellow and blue Stickles.

The purple die cut frame was layered over the lady image and the basket was pop dotted to the corner of the frame. The words "Happy Easter" were stamped onto a purple scrap and then the banner was die cut. I bent the banner to add dimension and then adhered it to the egg.  The green bow was added to the top of the frame.

SWEET WONDERS OF DESIGN FROM TERRI BURNETTE

This month our design team is Celebrating all things Easter and Spring with eggs, chicks and rabbits oh my.
Below are some amazing samples by
TERRI BURNETT

EASTER BASKET CARD

I began by cutting several 3/4" strips of kraft cardstock.  Each strip was inked on the edges with walnut stain ink.  Weave the strips together to create a basket.   The adorable image is from the Easter Parade Icons pack.  I fussy cut the image, added stickles to the edges and pop dotted it to the basket weave.  Add a peach silk ribbon around the woven card and tie at the front center.  Add the bow on top.  Adhere the woven paper to the front of a 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of cream cardstock.  Trim any extra from the edges.  Adhere this to your 4 x 5 card front.  Inside reads: "Hippity Hop - Happy Easter!"

HAPPINESS IS FLOWERS

All 3 images are from the Provance Garden Collage sheets.  After sizing them for my card I matted each on blue then pink cardstock.  The images have been "highlighted" with distress markers and a water brush to enhance the colors.  I used broken china, victorian velvet, frayed burlap, and peeled paint for this.  Each flower center also has Champagne micro beads added to the centers.  The blue butterfly is also from these collage sheets and is only adhered in the center of the butterfly so the wings lift.  Add a sentiment and pearls and you are done!

We asked the following question

"What is the most exciting thing to happen to you in your paper crafting career?"

Definitely being published in Canadian Scrapbooker magazine for the first time.  I was so excited when the magazine arrived that I took it to work and showed it off to everyone who card and some who didn't!  lol  And even thought I have been fortunate to have been publised in other magazines since, nothing compared to the first time!
