WE SAY A FOND FAREWELL TO LYNNE

It is with a heavy heart that Gecko Galz must bid a fond farewell to one of our Design Stars Lynne Moncrieff...she has gone off to discover new ventures and create amazing works in other venues. WANTED......A Few Design Team Super Stars!

CALLING ALL DESIGN STARS!

Do you enjoy working with new scrapbook products before everyone else?

Do you crave doing paper crafts and altered art?

Do you love inspiring others with your creations?

Do your scrapbook supplies out number your shoes?

Well then you may be just the person we are searching for!

Gecko Galz is a paper crafting company that specializes in vintage

inspired digital papers, digital collage sheets and digital stamps and we are in

search of new

artist to join our design team.

Our design team is a wee bit different than most because Gecko Galz products

are digital.

In 2014 we will be releasing 4 new Collage Sets, 4 collage sheets, 1 paper pack,

1 digital stamp set, and 1 jewelery image collage set EACH MONTH

thus giving our customers and design team members alot to be inspired by!

Each member of our design team receives a jpeg files every month with all of

the new products for the following month i.e. you will get February's products

in January.

Also we will be working with other companies on cross promotions through out

the year so you will get their products as well.

As a member of our design team you will be asked for the following:

1.Create one sample each month using that months Gecko Galz papers,

collage images or stamps, you are welcome to do more but you are required to

do at least 1.

2.Create one step by step how to submission for our monthly design team

challenge this will coinside with the company we are promoting, every month it

will be a different challenge and one winner will be chosen.

3.Do at least one blog, pintrest or facebook posting about Gecko Galz each

month.

4.Supply us with links to your blogs, galleries, and websites as well as a brief

bio and photo for our website gallery.

5.promote Gecko Galz by submitting works to magazines, challenges.

6. Take part in our annual blog hop in October.

7. We ask that you supply us with a photo and short bio for your Gallery page

on our website.

What you will receive from Gecko Galz for being a design team member;

1.You will receive all of Gecko Galz products from July 2014- December 2014

2.Recognition as a member of the team on our website with your own gallery

page as well as a board on the Gecko Galz Pinterest page

3.Publishing Opportunities

4.Quarterly Design Team only challenges where you can win amazing prizes

5.you can become a certified Gecko Galz Instructor

6. work with other amazing companies as cross promotions.

7. One month you will be the spotlight artist where we will interview you and

talk up your blog site.

To Apply please submit the following;

1. 2 to 4 paper crafted/altered works done within the last 6 months, send your

best works to us. They do not have to include Gecko Galz Products but if you

have any using them that would be wonderful to see.

2. Links to your blog and or any online galleries your associated with. Or send

a resume if you have one! You do not have to be published to be considered!

3. A list of any design teams you are currently associated with (you do not

have to be a member of any). Any publications you have been published in if

any.

4. A short paragraph on why you would like to be a member of our team.

5. Your full contact information; email, name, address

email header.

We're a passionate, inspiring and creative team looking for like-minded people

who love to share their thoughts and feelings using our products and foster a

supportive and welcoming community. We look forward to getting to know you!

If you cannot commit to doing at least 1 project a month and our special events

please DO NOT APPLY.

We will take submissions until June 15th 2014 and will announce our new

members on our blog site on June 29th 2014 .

LET'S MEET A GECKO GALZ DESIGN STAR.......STARR TIMMONS

This month I am pleased to introduce to all of you another one of the Gecko Galz Design Stars....Starr Timmons. Gecko Galz has been very lucky to have her as a part of our design team for a number of years and shared with us amazing works of art each month. So we thought it would be fun to introduce you to her in an up close personal way!

How long have you been paper crafting?

Around 10 or 12 years ago I began playing with paper. I remember a friend asking me to come over to scrapbook and I thought “how boring”. Wow, how wrong was I!!!!

What is your favorite kind of projects to do?

The projects that I enjoy most are multi-dimensional. I like creating altered art, wall hangings , and other 3D items. Card making is also a joy. It’s what I do to get away from it all and relax.

In the industry who do you most admire and why?

When I think of all the “Paper Crafting Stars” I don’t have one that stands out above another. The creativity that goes into making a line of product is mind boggling. I admire the entire team that sees to the product from designing to delivery. I must say that I do have a great admiration for the women who have stepped out and become leaders in the industry.

What brands (besides Gecko Galz) do you enjoy working with?

I love my Tim Holtz Vagabond and the Spellbinder dies. I think Maja Design and Pion paper are gorgeous and perfect for Shabby Chic.

What is the one thing in your crafting tote that you cannot live without?

What can I not live without…it has to be my tweezers. I use them constantly.

Where have you been published?

I’ve been published in Flying Unicorn’s Digital Magazine.

What is the best thing about being on the Gecko Galz Design team?

Okay, this is not a fair question, how can you put “the” best thing when there are so many! I love working with Leanne, she is creative, patient, and a great business woman. Getting to work with Gecko Galz products is a dream, the images are amazing with endless uses and I can’t stop without saying what a joy it is to design with such incredible women. Their creative talents are amazing!

What is your favorite scrapbook shop and where is it located?

My favorite scrapbook shop, Impressive Ideas, is in Roswell, GA. It is locally owned and when I walk in I feel like I’ve gone home! Love it!

How would you describe your crafting style?

Evolving. I love many styles but two stand out to me, Shabby Chic, it makes me feel girly, and altered art because it gets my heart pumping. I get excited about projects that I can change an object into something different and new.

If you could have a job in the crafting world what would it be and why?

To be an artist where my only job was to create would be my dream job. I would love to work with many different mediums and have many projects going at one time. I love painting with oil but I also like to get my hands on paper, cloth and medal. I’m afraid that someone else would have to keep the business running, that’s not where my talents lie!

Any last words for our friends and followers?

Just a couple of thoughts, try to keep a journal or write on your scrapbook pages or other creations so not only you, but family members will know what and who you are featuring, future generations will love your information more than you know.
