GECKO GALZ 14th TAG OF CHRISTMAS by Lisette Baker

Fourteenth Tag of Christmas
Father Christmas
by
Lisette Baker

PRODUCTS USED

Tag
Corrugated cardboard
Neutral cardstock
Scraps of lace, fabric and ribbon
PVA glue
White acrylic paint
Gold acrylic paint
Baby wipe
Glue pen
White texture paste
White fine glitter
Gold fine glitter
Clear chunky glitter
Seam Binding
Antique Linen Distress Ink
Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Image from December Magic collage sheet
Die cut numbers – 25
Mini Pine cones
Glue gel

HOW TO MAKE TAG
·        Dry brush white paint onto the base tag – no need to cover completely. Cut the corrugated card so that is slightly larger than the base tag and paint the edges and a border in the same way. Allow to dry.
·        Cover the base tag with scraps of lace, fabric and ribbon – absolutely no need to be neat. Slap on the glue and top with bits and pieces. I crinkled up the ribbon and muslin to create textured creases. Cover with a thin layer of acrylic paint and allow to dry.
·        Brush a layer of gold paint over the white and then rub off with a wet wipe. You are aiming to let the gold settle in the crevices but reveal the white in places. Feel free to apply and rub off a second coat of gold. Once the gold has dried you can lightly brush on a final thin coat of white if you wish. Once the tag is completely dry, adhere to the corrugated card.
·        Mount the image onto neutral cardstock, leaving a small border, and distress and ink the edges with Walnut Stain. Mount onto a second piece of card, once again leaving a small border.
·        Use a glue pen to draw a line around the inside edge of the Santa image and top with gold glitter. Use the pen to scribble glue over the snowy patches of the tree and top with white glitter.
·        Using a spatula, apply texture paste to the border that surrounds the image. Sprinkle on chunky glitter and then white glitter to create a snowy effect. Repeat around the edge of the corrugated card. Allow both to dry overnight.
·        To create the snowy ribbon, rub the Antique Linen ink pad along some white seam binding. Spritz with water and crinkle up into a tight ball. Once dry, tie a quadruple bow. Using a splatter stamp if you have one (or you could splatter with a paintbrush) add random splatters of acrylic paint to the ribbon.
·        Apply the Santa image and numbers using glue gel. To finish, add the bow and pine cones.

GECKO GALZ 13th TAG OF CHRISTMAS by Leanne Seed

Gecko Galz Thirteenth Tag Of Christmas
Snow Time
by
Leanne Seed

PRODUCTS USED

Gecko Galz From Russia With Love Collage Sheet
Large Shipping Tag
Printed Tissue Paper by Recollections
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sapphire Blue and Gold
Ranger Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo and Black Soot
Stampabilities "Joy" Stamp
UTEE by B& J Art Stamps in Chunky Gold
Glossy accents
Smooch inks in Molasses, Pool, Pearl and Gold
Card stock in teal
Ribbon
beaded trim
and flower

HOW TO MAKE TAG

Take your tag and using ink blending tool cover top with your ranger inks. next cut a piece of tissue that measures 1" larger all the way around and crumple then start adhering it to the top of the tag using liquid adhesive (you want some of the part sticking up). Next take your Glimmer mist and spray onto tissue paper lightly, if you get a large spot wipe with paper towel. Let this dry for 30 minutes. While it drys cut out your image from the collage sheet (I enlarged to 5x3.5) and back with teal card stock. Next along the outer edge add glossy accents then sprinkle with UTEE and heat to create a vintage metal look to outer edge. Stamp with your Joy Stamp using your black ink and let dry. Now take your piece of beaded trim and using double sided tape adhere to the back bottom edge of tag. Then adhere image to center of tag at an angle and paint image in spots with your Smooch inks (this will create an inlay look so it resembles a Russian box). Pull ribbon through hole and place flower over hole.

GECKO GALZ 11th TAG OF CHRISTMAS by Wendy Waldorf

GECKO GALZ 11th TAG OF CHRISTMAS

Tiny Tags Of Christmas
by
Wendy Waldorf

SUPPLIES TO MAKE TAGS

Gecko Galz Santa Jewel It collage sheet
Tag diecut or punch
Watercolor Crayons
bakers twine
glitter

HOW TO MAKE TAGS

Use punch, diecut or a template to cut out a tag shape from heavy cardstock. Cut out design from the Jewel-it sheet (Santa Claus) or use small scrap images. This technique is perfect for those small images you have in your stash. Attach design to tag. Frame the design by doodling with watercolor crayons around the edges. Embellish as you wish. These tags were embellished with mini pompoms, baker's twine and glitter. Punch holes at the top of your tags to attach ribbon or fibers to use as hangers.

If you want to write or stamp a message on the back of your tag...it works best to do this before adding embellishments.

I hope you will be inspired to make tags for all your gifts this year. The recipients will be delighted.

GECKO GALZ 10th TAG OF CHRISTMAS By Jules Eickmeier

Tenth Tag Of Christmas
Holiday Trimmings
By
Jules Eickmeier

PRODUCTS USED

Gecko Galz - Holiday Ladies Collage Set
Art Anthology Coloration spray in Gold & Stencils
Brown Tag
Stickles in green
Dyed Silk Ribbon
tiny matching trim

HOW TO MAKE TAG

I used a large brown tag as my base.  I placed the ArtAnthology

stencil, Bubbles (large dots) angled to the right on the tag and

sprayed it with Art Anthology's Spray in Gold.  When
that dried, I took the Dotties (small dots) stencil by AA and tilted
it to the left.  I sprayed Colorations in Guacamole over that.  I cut
out the flapper gal image from the collage set by Gecko Galz, added
Stickles to the dress and the nosegay.  While the glitter was drying,
I glued ribbon to the edges of the tag, assembled the pieces and
fininished it off with a French dyed silk ribbon.  It makes a lovely
addition to my tree.

GECKO GALZ 9th TAG OF CHRISTMAS by Joan Liddle

Ninth Tag Of Christmas
CHRISTMAS ANGEL
By
Joan Liddle

PRODUCTS USED

Gecko Galz - Bells and Blooms paper (from Botanical Christmas papers), Christmas Cuties #2 Collage Sheet, Altered Christmas #1 Collage Sheet
From my stash: Ranger tag (#12), Prima pearls, Hobby Lobby ribbon, German scrap wings, pink doily, transparency flourish, KaiserCraft die cuts

HOW TO MAKE TAG

I fell in love with this gorgeous Gecko Galz paper and image! I didn't want to lose much of the paper's lovely details, so  I used a very large tag from Ranger as my base. The tag size is 5 1/8" x 10 1/2".
First, I printed the Bells and Blooms paper and adhered it to the tag, making sure to center the part of the paper I wanted to use over the tag.
I cut the paper at the top and bottom and wrapped it around the sides of the tag.
Next, I fussy cut the girl from the Christmas Cuties paper.  In the original image, she is sitting on a snowbank. I cut the snow off so that I could have her sit on the top bell. Behind her I added a pink doily and white German scrap wings.
I fussy cut the poinsettia ticket from the Altered Christmas sheet and attached it to the top of the tag.
Lastly, I added pink pearls, pink ribbon, a blue transparency flourish and the chalkboard Merry Christmas saying. The pink pearls were layered over the ticket and top of the tag. The Merry Christmas die cut was layered onto a light blue scallop and they were layered over the tranparency flourish.
Techniques used: fussy cutting & layering

GECKO GALZ 8th TAG OF CHRISTMAS by Helene Huber

Eighth Tag Of Christmas
Russian Dolls
by
Helene Huber

SUPPLIES

Gecko Galz From Russia With Love collage sheet
Large tag 10.5 x 5 inches (I cut to size a piece of Crate Paper "Restoration Collection: Fringe")
trims
sentiment stamp (I used a rubber stamp from Artistic Stamper "Snowy Woods" plate.
black ink Sharpie marker
foam tape and/or foam squares

scissors

HOW TO CREATE TAG

Crop doll from collage sheet and resize four times.  (My largest doll is 4 inches tall.)
Print dolls.  I printed the second doll twice.  I printed the first and second roses twice.
Fussy cut dolls and extra roses.
Edge dolls and roses with black Sharpie.
Decorate the background of a large tag or cut a tag from patterned card stock.
Using foam tape on back of largest doll, adhere to tag.  Adhere a rose with foam squares.
Using foam tape, adhere remaining 3 dolls.
Returning to second doll, adhere a second doll with foam tape.  Adhere a second rose with foam tape.  This image now has 3 layers and "stands out" from the others.
A side view will demonstrate the layering.  The dolls literally "pop" off the tag.
Stamp a sentiment.
Add trims.
To add interest, I fussy cut the top of my tag along the scallop pattern and added trim to the bottom to "anchor" the dolls.
I chose trims that I felt matched the heritage of fabrics and materials from this part of the world.

GECKO GALZ 6th TAG OF CHRISTMAS by Carol Salisbury

GECKO GALZ SIXTH TAG OF CHRISTMAS
Winter Wishes Tag
by
Carol Salisbury

SUPPLIES

Gecko Galz Winter Wishes collage sheets
Robin Gough paper pkg...Rust Red Snowflakes & Pale Snowflakes
Large tag, music note paper, modeling paste, carpenters patch tape, diamond & platinum stickles, vintage photo & old paper distress inks, Ingvild Bolme white chalk ink, cheesecloth, pop dots, red trim, lace trim, pointsettia, Martha Stewart edge & corner punch, green wire, glitter and
sprays...Dylusions ink spray - Cut Grass
Perfect Pearls Mists - Heirloom Gold
Shimmerz Paints Spritz - Bed of Roses

HOW TO MAKE TAG

 I started with a large (5 1/8 x 10 1/2) tag.
I cut the music note paper to fit over the tag, then distressed the edges. Using a couple of stencils, I added the modeling paste in a few random places.
Wanting a spattered effect I sprayed all three sprays from about 12 to 16 inches away and while it was still wet from the sprays I scrunched up the edges a little bit here and there. Lastly I swiped some white chalk paint all over.
I put the carpenters patch tape on one side.
I punched 2 sides & corner of the Pale Snowflake paper from Robin G, adding platinum stickle dots within the punched area. Then glued it down on top of the background.
I added the red trim with hot glue.
From there I added some cheese cloth and one of the Winter Wishes images, that I put old paper distress in on the edges and glitter to give sparkle to the flowers. I used pop dots to add this image.
I distressed the edges of the Red Snowflake paper also from Robin G and added some modeling paste to one corner. I added some white chalk ink all around the edges. Using pop dots I put that on the tag.
I also used pop dots to add the Winter Wishes sentiment and skates image. The skates image has platinum stickles around the edges. The sentiment was inked with old paper distress ink then topped with diamond stickles...I spread it with my fingers.
I tucked a couple pieces of lace trim under a couple of pieces as well as a little bit of cheese cloth under the bottom image.
I added the poinsettia to the top corner.
Then to finish off the whole thing I used my finger and some diamond stickles and dabbed it all over.
